The BMW E9X M3's S65B40 V8 breathes through two factory airboxes fed by the kidney grille area. The Macht Schnell Stage 1 Intake Charge Kit adds cold-air diversion directly into those airboxes with powder-coated steel Intake Charge Scoops (ICS), paired with high-flow S65B40 cotton gauze panel filters to replace the factory paper elements. Together, they increase the volume and density of air reaching the S65 intake runners.
The ICS pieces are made from polyethylene with a textured exterior that blends with factory trim — immune to heat soak, virtually indestructible, and will not rust or warp. The smooth gloss interior surface channels cold air from behind the kidneys into the intake snorkel with minimal restriction. Combined with the high-flow filters, this kit produces noticeable power gains and more responsive throttle feel across the S65 rev range. Both components washable and reusable.
