The Dinan Valved Axle-Back Exhaust for the BMW G20 330i and G22 430i Coupe opens those exits up to 83mm per side, keeps the factory valve control and finishes the rear with dual 4 in. black ceramic tips. Dinan measured +4 HP and +3 lb-ft at 6600 RPM, and the note gets deeper than you would expect from a four-cylinder.
How the Dinan 330i Axle-Back Exhaust Frees Up the B48
On the stock car, an 85mm inlet splits into two 60mm pipes. That is a real bottleneck at the back of the system. Dinan keeps the 85mm inlet and splits it into dual 83mm pipes instead, so the exhaust leaves with far less restriction. Drone abatement is built into the design and the factory valves still close at low speed, so the car stays quiet when you want quiet and opens up when you use the throttle.
It is 100% T304 stainless steel, TIG welded. The dual tips are 102mm double-walled units with a black ceramic coating and a laser-engraved Dinan logo. Next to the factory 90mm tips, the difference is obvious from across the parking lot, and the black finish suits a shadow-line or dark-trim car.
Axle-Back Exhaust Fitment, Install and Legal Status
It bolts to the factory mounting points and hangers for OEM-style fitment, with a Dinan-quoted labor time of 1.5 hours. No coding required. Dinan states it does not affect vehicle emissions and is legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles. Vehicle Fitment
Fits the following B46/B48-powered BMW models:
- BMW 3 Series / G20 Sedan (2019-2024): 330i, 330i xDrive
- BMW 4 Series / G22 Coupe (2021-2024): 430i, 430i xDrive
Not confirmed for the G23 430i Convertible or G26 430i Gran Coupe. Dinan has not tested those body styles, and their extra underbody bracing may interfere with installation. Not for M340i or M440i models.
Installation Notes
This is one of the easier exhaust installs on the G20 platform. A DIYer with jack stands and basic hand tools can do it, and a shop will have it done in about 1.5 hours. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the kit.
- Let the exhaust cool completely and raise the car safely on a lift or jack stands.
- Disconnect the factory exhaust valve actuator and loosen the clamp ahead of the rear section.
- Support the factory rear section, release it from the hangers and remove it.
- Install the Dinan axle-back on the factory mounting points with the supplied hangers and clamps, transferring the valve actuator as directed.
- Fit and align the tips, torque all clamps, reconnect the actuator and check for leaks with the engine running.
