The Dinan Supplemental Ride Quality and Handling Kit for the BMW E60 M5 replaces those stops with four tuned, progressive rate bump stops. Dinan designed them to maximize suspension travel on the lowered car, so you get better handling and better ride quality at the same time.

Dinan tuned these bump stops specifically for use with Dinan springs. They are made from OE quality material with a progressive rate, so they come in gradually instead of hitting like a wall. That keeps the lowered car from bottoming out and lets the spring rate do its job through more of the travel. Dinan Bump Stop Kit Install: Do It With Your Springs
Timing matters here. Installed on its own, Dinan quotes 9.3 hours of labor, because the struts have to come apart. Installed at the same time as a Dinan spring set, the added labor is negligible. Installation Notes
This work requires strut disassembly and spring compressors. Professional installation is recommended, ideally alongside a Dinan spring install. Follow the Dinan instructions.
- Raise and support the car and remove the wheels.
- Remove each strut or shock assembly as described in the instructions.
- Compress the spring safely and replace the factory bump stop with the Dinan bump stop.
- Reassemble and reinstall each assembly, torquing all fasteners to spec.
- Get an alignment if ride height or suspension parts were changed.
