The Dinan Supplemental Ride Quality & Handling Kit for the BMW F97 X3M and F98 X4M replaces those factory stops with four progressive-rate bump stops tuned for the Dinan Performance Spring Set. They restore usable suspension travel at the lower ride height, so the car stops crashing into the stops and keeps the composure an M SUV should have.
What the X3M and X4M Ride Quality Kit Fixes
When you lower a car, the bump stops sit closer to their contact point and engage much earlier than BMW intended. On a vehicle as heavy as an X3M, that means abrupt, jarring hits over bumps. Dinan's stops are made from OE quality material with progressive characteristics, so they come in gradually and use every bit of the available travel.
They also help the car turn. Dinan tunes the bump stops to work with the spring rate, adding progressive support as weight transfers in a corner for more mechanical grip. Install the Handling Kit with Your Dinan X3M Springs

Installation Notes
Best done at the same time as your Dinan springs, while the strut assemblies are already out. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the spring set and this kit.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle and remove the strut and spring assemblies following BMW procedure.
- Disassemble each strut with a proper spring compressor and remove the factory bump stop.
- Install the Dinan bump stop and reassemble the strut with the Dinan spring.
- Reinstall the assemblies and torque all fasteners to BMW specification.
- Have a wheel alignment performed after lowering.
