Push an M car hard out of a corner and the rear end should do exactly what you ask. On the stock car, it moves around a little more than it should. The factory rear toe link uses rubber bushings and a curved forged rod, and under hard acceleration and braking that combination flexes. The rear wheels change toe when you least want them to, and the car feels less settled at the limit.

The Dinan Rear Suspension Link Kit for the BMW F8X and G8X M2, M3 and M4 takes that flex out. It replaces the rear toe links and the forward lower trailing links with straight billet aluminum rods and Teflon-lined machined steel rod ends. The rear axle stays where the engineers intended, so the car stays predictable when you lean on it.

How the Dinan Rear Suspension Link Kit Adds Precision

Rubber bushings are there for comfort, and they deflect under load. Rod ends do not. Swapping both the toe links and the forward trailing links means the two rear links that locate each wheel no longer squirm, which sharpens response and improves stability in hard cornering. The rod ends are Teflon lined for quiet operation and sealed with rubber boots, so you are not stuck cleaning them after every drive. This is a part you can live with on the street, not just on track days.

Easier Rear Toe Adjustment on Your M2, M3 or M4

Setting rear toe with the factory eccentric bolts is fiddly. The Dinan toe links use left and right-hand threads, so toe is set by turning the aluminum tube. That makes a precise alignment faster to hit and easier to repeat. The trailing links are fixed length because they do not need adjustment. Dinan part number D280-0015. Installation Notes

Plan on about 4 hours with the car on a lift. A wheel alignment is required after installation, so book it before you start. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the kit and torque every fastener to spec.

  1. Remove the rear wheels.
  2. Remove the forward lower trailing links following the BMW procedure.
  3. Install the Dinan trailing link assemblies with the narrow spacers facing forward and the wide spacers facing rearward, then torque to 74 ft-lbs.
  4. Mark the position of the factory eccentric bolts, then remove the stock toe links.
  5. Install the Dinan toe links with the wide spacers inboard and the narrow spacers outboard, line the eccentrics up with your marks and torque to 74 ft-lbs.
  6. Have the car aligned, setting rear toe with the Dinan toe links instead of the factory eccentrics.
