SalePut your foot down in an X2 M35i or M235i and the B48 is working hard. Two liters, one turbo, a lot of boost. And you hear almost none of it, because BMW fitted a resonator in the intake tract whose only job is to hide the turbo from you.
The Dinan Intake Resonator Delete Pipe removes that resonator on the BMW F39 X2 M35i, F44 M235i and MINI Clubman and Countryman JCW. In its place goes a 76mm smooth-bore billet aluminum pipe with TIG-welded fittings and a black powder-coat finish. You hear the spool and the induction noise the factory muted, and the charge path gets a smooth, full-diameter pipe.
What the Dinan Resonator Delete Pipe Changes
This is a sound and flow part, not a horsepower claim. Dinan does not publish a power gain for it and neither do we. What you get is the natural intake and turbo sound the B48 makes, plus a 76mm smooth-bore pipe where the factory resonator used to be. It is a direct replacement for the OEM pipe, so there is no cutting, no custom couplers and no fabrication.
Dinan uses billet aluminum with TIG-welded fittings for upgraded durability over the factory part. Dinan backs it with the remainder of your vehicle's factory limited warranty (up to 4 years / 50,000 miles) or 2 years / unlimited miles, whichever is greater.
Resonator Delete Install, Tuning and Legal Status
No tune is listed as required. It bolts on in place of the factory pipe, and Dinan rates the job at 1.9 hours of labor. Before you order, know this: it is not legal for sale or use in the State of California. It is legal under EPA Tampering Policy provisions in other states that follow Clean Air Act standards, and CARB testing for 50-state compliance is pending. Dinan part number D760-0067. Installation Notes
Plan on about two hours with basic hand tools. Access to the resonator is tight on these transverse-engine cars, so take your time and follow the Dinan instructions included with the part.
- Let the engine cool completely and remove the engine cover and any trim blocking access to the intake pipe.
- Release the clamps on both ends of the factory resonator pipe and remove it.
- Fit the Dinan pipe to the turbo side with the reusable spring clamp.
- Connect the intake side and tighten the adjustable clamp.
- Reinstall the covers, start the engine and check that both connections are sealed with no warning lights.
