Dinan Intake Resonator Delete Pipe - BMW F48 X1 / F39 X2 28i (2018-2023)
Sold OutThe 2.0 liter turbo four in your X1 or X2 28i has more in it than the factory intake lets on. Right in front of the turbo sits a plastic resonator, there to quiet intake noise for the showroom. It does that job by breaking up the air path the turbo has to pull through.
The Dinan Intake Resonator Delete Pipe swaps that section on the BMW F48 X1 and F39 X2 28i for a smooth-bore aluminum pipe. It steps the diameter up from 70mm stock to 76mm, removes the resonator's multi-directional flow path, and cuts the pressure drop ahead of the turbo.
Why Delete the Intake Resonator on an X1 or X2
Every bit of restriction ahead of the turbo makes it work harder for the same boost. The Dinan pipe is TIG-welded billet aluminum with black powder coat, sized to mate straight to the factory connections. It works on a completely stock car or alongside other intake and tuning upgrades. The only visible change is the engraved Dinan logo.

Read this before you order. This part is not legal for sale or use in the State of California. CARB certification is pending and no CARB Executive Order number has been issued. Installation Notes
This is a bolt-on job with basic hand tools. Dinan rates it at about 1.9 hours of labor. Work on a cool engine and follow the Dinan instructions supplied with the pipe.
- Let the engine cool and remove the engine cover and any trim blocking access to the intake tract.
- Loosen the clamps and connections on the factory resonator section and remove it.
- Fit the Dinan pipe to the factory connections and secure all clamps.
- Reinstall the covers, start the engine and check for air leaks and warning lights.
