Dinan Dual Exhaust Valve Remote - BMW F / G Chassis (Dual Electronic Exhaust Valves)
SaleBMW's exhaust valves open when the car decides, not when you do. Sport mode might crack them. A cold start at 6am might blast the whole street. You paid for that engine and that exhaust, and you should get to choose when it speaks up and when it stays quiet.
The Dinan Dual Exhaust Valve Remote overrides the factory exhaust valve logic on F and G chassis BMWs that use dual electronic exhaust valves. Press the top button on the wireless remote and both valves open fully. Press the bottom button and they close. It works with the factory exhaust and with aftermarket exhausts that keep the factory electronic valve actuators.
How the Dinan Dual Exhaust Valve Remote Works
The kit wires in between the car and the factory valve actuators, so the valves follow the remote instead of the drive mode. Dinan supplies extra length wiring harnesses, which gives your installer room to route them cleanly on a wide range of cars. The remote itself is wireless with a weatherproof housing, so it lives on your key ring without drama.
Compatibility and Legal Status
Dinan has tested it with BMW valve actuator part numbers 18307851568, 18308686640, 18308632154 and 18308623424. If your car has one of those, you are covered. One exception: on the G2x/G4x M240i, M340i and M440i, it only fits cars running a Dinan exhaust. Dinan states the remote is legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles because it does not affect emissions. Loud is still loud, so keep your local noise rules in mind. Vehicle Fitment
Fits BMW F and G chassis vehicles with dual electronic exhaust valves:
- BMW F chassis and G chassis models with dual electronic exhaust valves
- Dinan-tested valve actuators: BMW P/N 18307851568, 18308686640, 18308632154, 18308623424
- Factory exhaust, or aftermarket exhaust that uses the factory electronic valve actuators
Exception: G2x/G4x M240i, M340i and M440i fitment is limited to vehicles running the Dinan exhaust. Cars with a single valve or no electronic valves are not compatible.
Installation Notes
Dinan quotes 1.5 hours or more of labor depending on the car. It is a wiring job at the rear of the car, so a shop or an owner comfortable with connectors will have the easiest time. Follow the Dinan instructions for your application.
- Raise the rear of the car safely on a lift or jack stands.
- Locate both factory electronic exhaust valve actuators and their connectors.
- Connect the Dinan harnesses between the car and each actuator as shown in the instructions.
- Mount the control module and route the harnesses away from heat and moving parts.
- Test both remote buttons and confirm the valves open and close before lowering the car.
