The Dinan Gloss Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser Surround replaces the upper diffuser surround on the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 with a real carbon fiber accent piece. It is 100% genuine 2x2 gloss twill dry carbon fiber, manufactured from pre-preg and clear coated for UV protection and fade resistance. No wrap, no hydro-dip.
Why Dinan Built a Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser Surround, Not a Full Diffuser
Full replacement diffusers often clash with aftermarket exhausts because every tip layout is different. Dinan kept the factory gloss black lower diffuser and replaced only the upper surround. That avoids fitment problems with the many exhaust configurations out there and keeps the cost sensible, while putting carbon exactly where eyes land. On the G80 M3, add the Dinan Rear Side Splitters for a complete OEM+ rear end.
Install, Fitment and Availability
The surround uses the factory mounting tabs for an easy install with a clean fit, and Dinan quotes about 1 hour of labor. Installation Notes
A careful owner can do this at home, and a shop will have it done in about an hour. Protect the painted bumper and the carbon surface while you work. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the part.
- Raise the rear of the car safely for access, or work from a creeper.
- Remove the factory upper diffuser surround from the rear bumper.
- Clean the mounting area and check the factory mounting tabs for damage.
- Align the Dinan carbon surround with the factory tabs and press it into place.
- Check the fit around the exhaust tips and bumper edges before driving.
