The Dinan Gloss Carbon Fiber Front Lip extends the lower bumper of the BMW G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 forward with a sharper OEM+ edge. It is 100% genuine 2x2 gloss twill dry carbon fiber, manufactured from pre-preg and clear coated for UV protection and fade resistance. Real carbon structure, not a vinyl wrap or a hydro-dipped plastic lip.
A Dinan Carbon Fiber Front Lip Built for Daily Driving
Multi-piece lips look fine in photos and then fight you on the seams. Dinan made this one a single piece, so there are no joints to line up and no gaps to chase. The center section is slightly raised, which gives you a little more room over driveway inclines and speed bumps than a flat lip would. It is still a front lip, so steep approaches deserve an angle, but you are not trading daily usability for the look.
Install, Special Editions and Legal Status
The lip mounts with 3M double-sided tape plus mounting screws, and Dinan quotes about 1 hour of labor. Before you order, check your trim: Dinan states it does not fit special edition cars such as the Jahre Edition, M3 CS and M4 CSL without modifications. Installation Notes
This is a manageable DIY job for a careful owner, and any shop will have it done in about an hour. Surface prep is what makes tape hold, so do not rush it. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the lip.
- Clean and dry the underside of the front bumper where the lip sits.
- Test fit the lip before peeling any tape backing and confirm it lines up with the bumper edge.
- Peel the 3M tape backing, position the lip and press it firmly along its full length.
- Install the supplied mounting screws.
- Check the fit along the full width of the bumper before driving.
