SaleThe B48 in your Z4 sDrive30i is a willing little engine. Then you pop the hood and find a plain plastic airbox with a resonator whose whole job is to muffle the turbo. You bought a roadster to hear it work. The factory setup keeps that sound, and some of the airflow, locked away.
The Dinan Gloss Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake replaces the factory airbox on the BMW G29 Z4 sDrive30i and Toyota GR Supra 2.0 with an enlarged 2x2 gloss twill carbon fiber box and a custom filter with 40% more area. On a completely stock car, Dinan measured gains of 6 WHP at 5500 RPM and 7 lb-ft at 4000 RPM. One part number covers both cars.
How the Dinan Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake Breathes Better
Dinan rates this intake roughly 15% less restrictive than the factory system. The airbox is 60% larger than stock, and the custom free-flowing filter grows from 82 in2 to 115 in2. The semi-open design with a sound slot lets you hear the turbo spool that the stock resonator hides, without turning the cabin into a drone box on the highway.
This is real carbon fiber, not a wrap or a hydro-dipped plastic cover. The visible box is 2x2 gloss twill, with an aluminum brace in the lid. When you open the hood, it looks like the upgrade it is.
Z4 sDrive30i Intake Install, Tuning and Legal Status
No tune is needed. Dinan's figures come from an otherwise stock car. It is a bolt-on with about 1 hour of labor. Before you order, know this: it is not legal for sale or use in the State of California. CARB certification is pending, and no CARB Executive Order number has been issued yet. Vehicle Fitment
Fits the following B48 2.0L turbo models:
- BMW Z4 / G29 Roadster (2019-2026): sDrive30i
- Toyota GR Supra / A90 (2021-2024): GR Supra 2.0
Not compatible with the BMW Z4 M40i or the Toyota GR Supra 3.0.
Installation Notes
A DIYer with basic hand tools can do this in about an hour. Work on a cool engine and follow the Dinan instructions included with the kit.
- Let the engine cool and disconnect the intake duct from the factory airbox.
- Unplug any sensors or hoses attached to the airbox and remove the factory airbox assembly.
- Install the Dinan carbon fiber lower box and custom filter in the factory location.
- Reconnect the intake duct, sensors and hoses, then fit the lid and secure all clamps.
- Start the engine and confirm there are no warning lights or loose connections.
