The rear suspension geometry on the M5 and M8 was engineered to serve a wide range of driving styles. Rubber bushings in the toe links and forward trailing links absorb minor road inputs and give the suspension a compliant, forgiving quality for daily driving. In hard use, that same compliance becomes the liability.

Under threshold braking and aggressive acceleration, those bushings flex. The rear wheels develop excessive toe change, and the rear end moves in ways you didn't input. On a platform with 600 hp going to all four wheels, imprecision at the rear is the wrong compromise. Dinan rebuilds both critical link locations to remove that variable.

The rear toe link rubber bushing is replaced with a Teflon-lined machined steel rod end, and the curved OEM forged alloy rod is swapped for a stouter billet aluminum arm. The result is a direct, load-bearing connection between hub and chassis with none of the deflection the rubber-bushed setup allows. The forward lower trailing links receive the same treatment: billet aluminum arms with precision ball joints replace the OEM rubber-bushed components, adding the same precision Dinan uses in their front monoball kit.

Rubber boots protect both rod ends from contamination, so the precision you install stays precise through street use. Nylon-lined bearings keep operation quiet. The geometry change is repeatable and functional. The car responds the same way every time you ask it to.

Key Features

  • Rear toe link: Teflon-lined machined steel rod ends replace rubber bushings for flex-free toe control
  • Rear toe link bar: billet aluminum arm replaces the curved OEM forged alloy rod for added structural rigidity
  • Forward trailing links: billet aluminum arms with precision ball joints replace rubber-bushed OEM components
  • Black anodized finish on all aluminum components for corrosion resistance and clean aesthetics
  • Rubber boots on rod ends protect against environmental damage for long-term performance
  • Nylon-lined bearings for quiet operation on the street
  • Eliminates rear-end instability under hard braking and acceleration
  • Compatible with Base and Competition M5/M8 platforms

Installation Notes

Professional installation recommended. This kit requires removal of the rear suspension links and rear subframe access. A full 4-wheel alignment is required after installation to restore correct suspension geometry.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely; remove rear wheels for access
  2. Remove the factory rear toe links and forward lower trailing links
  3. Install Dinan billet aluminum arms and rod ends per the included instructions
  4. Torque all fasteners to factory specification
  5. Perform a full 4-wheel alignment before driving
