The Dinan Billet Aluminum Strut Tower Brace for the BMW G20 3 Series and G42 2 Series fills that gap with solid, black anodized billet aluminum. It links both front strut towers to cut chassis flex under cornering load, so turn-in feels crisper and the front end stays more consistent through a long sweeper. It bolts into the factory holes in about half an hour.
Why a Billet Aluminum Strut Tower Brace for the G20 and G42
Billet aluminum means the brace is machined from a solid block, not stamped or bent from tube. That gives you a rigid link between the towers without a noticeable weight penalty, and the black anodized finish looks like it belongs in a modern BMW engine bay.
Already running a Dinan intake, or planning one? Fitment is guaranteed with the stock intake and with Dinan intake systems that have the brace valley (D760-0058 / D760-0059). Dinan does not guarantee clearance with other aftermarket intakes or with its flat-lid intake designs, so check your setup before you order.
Strut Tower Brace Fitment Check Before You Buy
This kit is for G20 3 Series and G42 2 Series cars that did not come with factory strut braces. The supplied hardware does not fit cars that shipped with braces, and it does not fit the G2x 4 Series, which uses a different Dinan kit. It has no effect on emissions and needs no tune or coding. Installation Notes
A simple bolt-on job with basic hand tools. Confirm your car did not come with factory braces before you start, and follow the Dinan instructions included with the kit.
- With the engine cool, open the hood and locate the factory mounting holes on both front strut towers.
- Position the brace across the engine bay and check clearance to the intake and engine covers.
- Install the supplied hardware through the factory holes on both towers.
- Torque the hardware to the value in the Dinan instructions and close the hood to confirm clearance.
