Dinan Adjustable Sway Bar Set 28mm/19mm - BMW F30 3 Series / F3X 4 Series / F2X 2 Series RWD (2012-2021)

The F-generation 3, 4 and 2 Series have one of the best engine lineups BMW has ever put in a compact chassis. Push one on a good road, though, and the factory bars let the body lean and the front tires wash wide before the car ever feels busy. It is tuned for comfort and safety margins, not for the driver who wants the car to rotate.

The Dinan Adjustable Sway Bar Set replaces both factory anti-roll bars on rear-wheel-drive BMW F30 3 Series, F32/F33/F36 4 Series and F22/F23 2 Series cars with a hollow 28mm front bar and a hollow 19mm rear bar. Both bars have three mounting positions, so you choose how flat and how neutral the car gets.

Adjustable Sway Bar Set Built for the F-Series Chassis

The gains depend on your model, and Dinan publishes them. On a 335i, 340i, 435i or 440i the front bar is 63% to 97% stiffer than stock. On an M235i or M240i it is 45% to 76% stiffer. At the rear, a 335i, 340i, 435i or 440i goes 359% to 474% stiffer than the factory bar. That rear increase is what lets the car rotate instead of pushing wide at the apex.

Concerned it will ride like a race car? Sway bars only work when one side of the car moves more than the other, so bumps that hit both wheels together feel much like stock. Start in a softer hole and move up once you know how the car behaves. Hollow tubular construction keeps weight in check, and both bars bolt to your factory end links.

RWD Only: Check Your Car Before You Order

This sway bar set fits rear-wheel-drive cars only. It does not fit xDrive models, the F31 Sports Wagon or the F34 Gran Turismo. Dinan makes a separate set for xDrive cars. Installation Notes

Plan on professional installation. Dinan rates it at 7.1 hours of labor, and the front bar can only come out with the front subframe lowered about 4 to 6 inches. The rear requires supporting and slightly lowering the differential area. Follow the Dinan instructions supplied with the kit.

1. Raise the car on a lift and support it safely.
2. Support and lower the front subframe as directed, then remove the factory front bar.
3. Install the Dinan front bar and its hardware, connect the factory end links in your chosen hole, and raise the subframe back into place.
4. At the rear, support the differential area as directed, remove the factory bar and fit the Dinan rear bar in your chosen hole.
5. Torque all subframe, bar and end link fasteners to spec with the suspension at ride height.
6. Road test and adjust the balance one hole at a time if needed.
