Dinan High Performance Adjustable Coilover Suspension - BMW F87 M2 / M2 Competition (2016-2021)
The F87 M2 is already one of the best driver's cars BMW has built. But from the factory it sits high, rolls more than it should in quick transitions, and leaves a wheel gap you can park a fist in. You want it lower and flatter without trading away the ride you live with every day.
The Dinan High Performance Adjustable Coilover Suspension for the BMW F87 M2 and M2 Competition gives you threaded collars for precise ride height adjustment, springs that are nearly 18% stiffer in front and 5% stiffer in the rear, and Dinan progressive bump stops that keep the ride civilized at a lower height.
How the Dinan F87 M2 Coilovers Stay Livable
Dinan lets you drop the car up to 1 in. in front and 1.5 in. in the rear, depending on tire clearance. For a street car, Dinan recommends 3/4 in. front and 1/2 in. rear, and that is where the ride stays comfortable. Rear helper springs keep the suspension working properly in droop, and the included packers let you tune bump stop clearance for comfort or grip, just like a race car setup. Stock upper spring mounts are retained, so there are no new clunks or squeaks.
To be clear on what this is: the kit adjusts ride height, not damping. It works with the factory non-adaptive shocks. Components are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and black anodized for corrosion protection. Dinan part number D190-8701. Sold by AutoTecknic, an authorized Dinan dealer.

Vehicle Fitment
Fits the following BMW M2 models without adaptive dampers:
- BMW M2 / F87 Coupe (2016-2018): M2 (N55)
- BMW M2 Competition / F87 Coupe (2019-2021): M2 Competition (S55)
Not compatible with cars equipped with EDC or Adaptive M Suspension (option 2VF). The M2 CS requires additional Dinan parts D112-0066, D112-0067, D671-0192 and D671-0196. Does not fit the G87 M2.
Installation Notes
Dinan quotes 9.2 hours of labor, and a professional alignment to Dinan's specifications is required. This is a shop install for most owners.
- Remove and disassemble the front struts, then fit the Dinan endlink mounts and threaded perches to the factory shocks.
- Install the rear bump stops and Dinan spring mounts onto the rear shocks.
- Install the springs and helper springs and set the collars to mid-range as a starting height.
- Reinstall the assemblies, drive to settle the suspension, then check bump stop clearance and set packers to 0.75 in. front and 0.50 in. rear.
- Perform a four-wheel alignment to Dinan's published specifications.
