After extensive R&D, Active Autowerke proudly introduces the Gen 2 Equal Length (EL) Mid-Pipe — a refined evolution of our best-selling design. Now equipped with proprietary resonators, this updated system removes unwanted rasp while maintaining aggressive tone and volume. The added benefit? A significant reduction of the annoying “2k rpm buzz” common in the S55 platform.

Engineered for the Perfect Sound

The S55’s twin-turbo configuration creates uneven exhaust pulses due to the unequal length of the factory downpipes—nearly 18 inches apart. This results in a sharp, high-pitched “weed eater” tone that disrupts the natural inline-six harmony.

Active Autowerke’s patented sinusoidal crossover design equalizes the exhaust pulse lengths before merging, restoring true six-cylinder acoustics. The result is a balanced, full-bodied tone that transforms the character of your M2C or M2CS without sacrificing performance.

For vehicles with aftermarket or catless downpipes, we strongly recommend the resonated version for the best sound refinement. Cars equipped with MPE or CS exhausts should also choose the resonated setup to reduce midrange rasp.
