The F10 5 Series was BMW getting the big sedan right -- properly sized, well-balanced, and capable of disappearing on an autobahn run or a back-road push alike. If your F10 came with Electronic Damper Control, it also came with a system that actively manages ride quality. Replacing it with a KW V2 takes that control out of the software and puts it in your hands.

This kit includes the EDC cancellation unit because it has to. The factory system expects sensor signals from the adaptive dampers, and without the cancellation unit providing a valid response, you will see warning lights within the first mile of driving. The bundle solves that from day one. Once it is sorted, the V2 gives you a 16-click rebound adjuster on each damper -- independent of your ride height setting -- so you can tune the F10 for the motorway or the twisties without touching the height setup you dialed in last weekend. Note: this kit is not for the 550i or Adaptive Drive variants.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel monotube dampers, corrosion-free for the life of the car
  • Height adjustable lowering range, 10-40mm typical, TUV-certified street legal
  • Independent rebound damping adjustment -- 16-click range -- lets you tune ride firmness without touching ride height
  • Matched spring rates engineered as a complete system for F10 Sedan 2WD chassis dynamics
  • Includes EDC cancellation unit to prevent Electronic Damper Control warning lights
  • Does not fit 550i or Adaptive Drive equipped variants

Vehicle Fitment

Direct OEM replacement fitment for:

  • BMW / 5 Series / F10 Sedan 2WD (2011-2016): with Electronic Damper Control (EDC), excluding 550i and Adaptive Drive

Installation Notes

Professional installation is strongly recommended. The EDC cancellation unit must be properly connected before first startup -- the factory control unit will flag a fault code and enter a reduced-function mode if it detects missing damper signals. Confirm your F10 is a non-550i, non-Adaptive Drive 2WD Sedan before ordering.

  1. Set desired ride height before final torque on locking collars
  2. Install EDC cancellation unit per included instructions before reconnecting electronics
  3. Perform four-wheel alignment immediately after installation
  4. Allow 500-mile break-in period before adjusting rebound damping to final preference
