Some X5M owners want a subtle drop. Others want the fender to kiss the tire. Fixed-rate springs force you to pick one number and live with it. VTF lets you choose.
H&R VTF Adjustable Lowering Springs are F85 X5M adjustable lowering springs with height-adjustable perches, so you dial in the exact stance you want: 1.4 to 2.2 inches lower in front and 1.2 to 2.0 inches lower in the rear, per H&R's published range. VTF stands for Verstellbare TieferlegungsFedern, German for adjustable lowering springs.
F85 X5M Adjustable Lowering Springs That Keep Your Adaptive Dampers
Coilovers are the usual route to adjustable height, but on the X5M they mean giving up the factory electronic dampers and the drive modes tied to them. VTF does not. H&R designed these springs specifically to work with the original electronic shocks, so Comfort still means comfort and Sport+ still tightens things up. You get coilover-style height control at a fraction of the complexity.
Every VTF spring is made in Germany by H&R from high tensile spring steel and tested in an ISO 9001 certified facility. Set it once, align it, and drive it. Sold by AutoTecknic, an authorized H&R dealer.

Installation Notes
Professional installation is strongly recommended. A spring compressor is required, and the adjustable perches are set to your target ride height during installation, so decide on your stance before the car goes on the lift. A four-wheel alignment is required after installation and after any later height change.
- Measure and record your current fender-to-hub heights at all four corners.
- Raise and securely support the vehicle, then remove the wheels and suspension assemblies per H&R's instructions.
- Use a spring compressor to fit the H&R VTF springs and adjustable perches, setting each perch to your chosen height within H&R's published range.
- Reinstall, torque fasteners at ride height, then measure again and fine-tune the perches until side-to-side heights match.
- Let the springs settle, recheck heights, and finish with a full four-wheel alignment.
