Eventuri Carbon Intake System - BMW G20 M340i B58 (Pre-Nov 2018 MAF Sensor)
The earliest G20 M340i owners got the short end of the stick from the factory. BMW's OE airbox was engineered for packaging and NVH, not performance. On the B58-powered 3 Series it sits close enough to the exhaust manifold that heat soak becomes a real problem under sustained load. If your G20 was built before November 2018 and still has the MAF airflow sensor in the airbox, this is the intake designed specifically for your car.
One critical detail before ordering: verify your production date, not your model year. BMW updated the B58 intake system mid-production in cars built after November 2018, replacing the MAF airflow sensor with a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. The V1 intake fits pre-November 2018 production cars with the MAF sensor configuration only. Check your door jamb sticker before placing your order.
How It Works
Eventuri's design starts with a fully sealed pre-preg carbon fiber airbox that isolates the filter from radiant engine bay heat. Rather than relying on a single cold-air duct, the system taps two independent feeds: a primary duct from the front of the engine bay and a secondary scoop that extends into the wheel arch area, increasing available air volume without pulling in heat-soaked air. A gold reflective heat shield on the exhaust manifold side actively deflects radiant heat from the airbox assembly.
From the filter, airflow moves through a smooth-bore carbon fiber inlet tube starting at 111mm ID, replacing the factory convoluted plastic tract. The smooth continuous bore reduces turbulence and pressure drop before air reaches the turbo inlet. Eventuri's patented Venturi housing geometry promotes laminar flow conditions through the assembly, reducing drag on the turbocharger and improving throttle response.

Vehicle Fitment
Fits BMW G20 M340i with B58 engine produced before November 2018 only:
- BMW 3 Series / G20 M340i (2019 Early Production): RWD and xDrive. Production date before November 2018 required.
Not compatible with G20 M340i built after November 2018. Those vehicles use the V2 intake. Verify your car's production date on the door jamb sticker before ordering.
Installation Notes
No permanent modification required. Installs using OEM mounting points. Confirm your production date on the door jamb sticker before starting. The MAF sensor port in the V1 inlet tube must match your existing airbox configuration.
- Remove factory airbox and intake tract
- Install CNC-machined breather adapters at existing factory locations
- Position carbon airbox using OEM mounting points and laser-cut stainless brackets
- Connect carbon inlet tube to turbo inlet and transfer MAF sensor from factory tube
- Route both cold-air feeds and fit gold heat shield
- Confirm all sensor connections are secure before starting the engine
