Dinan 3.25in High Flow Middle Exhaust - BMW F95 X5 M / F96 X6 M (2020-2023)
SaleCrawl under a pre-LCI X5 M or X6 M and you will find a hydro-formed center section with a resonator in the middle of it. Its job is to make a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 sound quieter. It does that job well. If you want to hear the engine you paid for, it is the first thing to go.
The Dinan High Flow Middle Exhaust for the 2020-2023 BMW F95 X5 M and F96 X6 M replaces that factory center section with 3.25 in. (83mm) T304 stainless tubing and a hand-crafted, mandrel-bent X-pipe where the resonator used to sit. The result is a louder, smoother and fuller exhaust note with less restriction than stock.
Why the Dinan High Flow Middle Exhaust Uses a Mandrel-Bent X-Pipe
Stamped X-pipes pinch the tube at every bend. Mandrel bending keeps the full diameter through the crossover, so flow stays even to both banks with minimum restriction. The X-pipe also balances pressure between the two sides of the V8, which smooths out the uneven tone you get from the resonated stock system. Tubing goes from the factory 80mm to 83mm along the way.
It is 100% T304 stainless steel with factory-like fitment and all mounting hardware included. On its own it adds volume and depth. Paired with the Dinan valved axle-back, you get the complete Dinan cat-back sound.
Middle Exhaust Fitment and Legal Status
Before you order, check what is behind it. Dinan confirms fitment only with the stock exhaust or the Dinan axle-back. Other brands of axle-back are not guaranteed to line up. With the Dinan axle-back there is no cutting required. Dinan lists labor at 1.5 hours and classifies the part as not affecting vehicle emissions, legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles. Dinan part number D660-0092. Vehicle Fitment
Fits the following pre-LCI, S63-powered BMW M models:
- BMW X5 M / F95 (2020-2023): X5 M, X5 M Competition
- BMW X6 M / F96 (2020-2023): X6 M, X6 M Competition
Not for 2024-2026 LCI X5 M or X6 M. Dinan offers a separate X-pipe for those cars. Compatible only with the factory exhaust or the Dinan axle-back.
Installation Notes
A shop or experienced DIYer with a lift can do this in about 1.5 hours. Follow the Dinan instructions included with the kit.
- Let the exhaust cool completely and raise the vehicle safely on a lift.
- Support the rear section and loosen the clamps at both ends of the factory center section.
- Release the center section from its hangers and remove it.
- Fit the Dinan middle exhaust in the factory location using the supplied hardware, leaving clamps loose for alignment.
- Align the full system, torque every clamp and check for leaks with the engine running.
