Dinan Free Flow Axleback Exhaust System - Polished Tips | BMW X5 M / X6 M (F85/F86) | 2015-2019
SaleThe S63 V8 in your X5 M or X6 M is one of the most capable engines BMW has ever built. The factory exhaust keeps that sound buried. This changes that.
Dinan's Free Flow Axleback Exhaust replaces the stock rear exhaust section with a 100% 16-gauge 304 stainless steel system built for long-term corrosion resistance and high-flow performance. The system carries over the factory computer-controlled valve, so behavior at low speeds and light loads stays civil. Crack the throttle and the valve opens fully, reducing backpressure and letting the S63 breathe the way it was designed to. Dinan measures the result: 8 HP and 7 lb-ft at 6,000 RPM, with improved exhaust flow across the entire rev range.
The design addresses the drone problem directly. A Helmholtz chamber engineered into the system targets and cancels the resonance frequencies that cause low-RPM cabin buzz in most aftermarket exhaust configurations. The sound you get is a deep, authoritative V8 growl under acceleration. The sound you don't get is the flat drone that makes a highway commute in an exhaust-modified car exhausting in the wrong way.
The system uses all factory brackets and hangers. No cutting, no welding, no fabrication. Polished quad 89mm (3.5") laser-engraved Dinan tips complete the look.

Installation Notes
Bolt-on installation using factory hanger and bracket points. Professional installation is recommended given the size and weight of the system. Allow the stock system to cool completely before starting.
- Allow the factory exhaust to cool completely before beginning removal
- Disconnect the factory rear exhaust section from its hangers and brackets
- Position the Dinan axleback system and connect to the factory hangers and brackets
- Torque all connections to specification, verify tip alignment, and confirm valve operation before first drive
