KW Suspensions HLS with V3 - Lamborghini Gallardo (140) LP570-4 without OE lift
KW HLS Evolution
KW HLS with a new pump, reduced weight, and more robust solenoid valve
Due to their lower center of gravity, sportscars often come with minimal ground clearance. Even when driving an everyday road vehicle, the driver often faces the challenge of needing to cross speed bumps or steep driveways. Inattentiveness can lead to scratches and damages to the front lip or side skirts of the vehicle.
With our KW Hydraulic Lift System (HLS), the driver can overcome those obstacles without any damage. The HLS system lifts the vehicle by up to 45 millimeters at speeds of up to 80 km/h with the press of a button. Our KW HLS system is available as a complete suspension kit from KW Suspensions or as a retrofit solution for the original suspension of the car (depending on the vehicle type and application). Our latest revision is called HLS Evolution. It comes with a revised pump and is currently only available for lifting the front axle.
KW HLS Lift Kit – More ground clearance at the touch of a button
The hydraulic cylinder installed between the spring plate and the spring in our coilover lifts the chassis using the onboard control unit. Now, our revised Lift Kit HLS Evolution is only available for lifting the front axle (HLS 2 Evolution).
Those who’d like to increase ground clearance on both the front and rear axles must settle for the older HLS version. We are actively working on the HLS 4 Evolution. The advantage of a hydraulic system is that there is no compression (motion) of the extended cylinder unit during driving. This avoids any unwanted additional damping. The HLS is available with parts certificate (§19 (2)/ §21).
KW HLS Evolution: What has changed in the revised lift system
The new KW HLS Evolution is currently available for lifting the front axle. With the redesign, the new HLS now comes with a smaller pump unit. This allows the HLS 2 Evolution to be installed in the engine compartment without needing major modifications. It is no longer necessary to run cables into the trunk as it was the case with the HLS 2. Additionally, we have saved 3-4 kilograms with the HLS 2 Evolution. Another advantage is that the new HLS system can usually be attached to existing mounting points with a slightly modified original bracket. The KW solenoid valve has been revised to be less susceptible to contamination. We are gradually transitioning to HLS Evolution. However, the old system is still available for some applications.
Endless stepless lowering options for your car with KW HLS
In combination with our KW coilovers, the Hydraulic Lift System from KW Suspensions allows a subtle lowering within the tested adjustment range. Thanks to high-quality and durable materials, individual lowering can be varied at any time. Dust protection elements and bump stops are already included, allowing maximum technical and legal lowering. With our KW HLS, customers experience sporty but harmonious driving without compromising on driving dynamics. This product was also tested on both our 7-post rig and on real tracks like the renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife.
As with all KW coilovers our engineers develop vehicle specific damper and spring specifications which undergo comprehensive testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in our KW 7-post Driving Dynamic Test Center. With a KW HLS coilover kit the driving experience is more dynamic and direct.
You are not buying a mass produced, generic coilover kit, a KW coilover has been developed specifically for your particular vehicle. As a manufacturer, KW uses only its own resources, high quality components and the damper technology that has all developed in-house. With the KW coilovers, rolling motion of the body will be reduced during compression giving you the benefit of more direct handling and confidence while driving.
